Postdoctoral Position in Bioinformatics

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to participate in a three-year project to develop new gene finding algorithms using DNA sequence information along with data on protein sequence and structure information available in public databases.

The algorithm will be using Markov and Hidden Markov models describing statistical patterns observed in known DNA and protein sequences and structures.

The successful candidate will join an active group working on new gene finding algorithms (http://dixie.biology.gatech.edu/)

Strong preference will be given to candidates already published their works in Bioinformatics and those who were awarded by at least partial financial support for postdoctoral studies.

Applicants should provide an application letter, CV and contact information for two references. Applicants must be within 3 years of being awarded a PhD.
